In the late 1950’s, Allis Chalmers began its search to develop electric power through chemical reactions. The obvious answer? Fuel cells, as these produce electrical power directly through a chemical reaction樂威壯 , without heat, smoke, or noise.

Teaming up with Harvey Frank, an expert in fuel cell technology, they created what may be one of the most useful vehicles mankind has ever made – a tractor powered entirely through chemical reactions. This early application of fuel cell technology inspired later uses, including in one of mankind’s most advanced and iconic vehicles – the Space Shuttle.
